Aged care workers assist and support the aged, the frail and people with disabilities to maintain well-being, dignity and independence. Aged Care Workers provide assistance with daily chores such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and mobility in accordance with the person’s wishes, needs and abilities. The skills and expertise of the Aged Care Worker are now in high demand. Employment opportunities exist in nursing homes, hostels, supported accommodation and group homes. Graduates may also find employment with private agencies and local government.
Participants must have language and literacy skills to manage study and work requirements.
All participants must undergo a Police Check. Students must complete 13 units to gain the qualification.

This course will give you the skills to seek employment as a senior retail assistant or supervisor. The retail industry is the biggest employer in Australia with over 1.4 million employees and a projected growth of 160,000 positions over the next 5 years. Retail employees with a Certificate III qualification or better have half the unemployment levels of retail employees with no post school qualifications. This course is conducted over 26 weeks with 1 day a week in class, 1 day a week home study and the equivalent of 1 day per week work experience. Your assessment of competency will written assignments and assessment of your activities in the workplace. This course has been designed for students with little or no retail experience so that students will complete20 units including units from Certificate II in Retail Operations. Students with 2 or more years of retail experience can apply for recognition of prior learning for level II units.
